Become an Ambassador of St. Mary’s Church NEWPORT — The Ambassadors Club is open to all interested parishioners of St. Augustin and St. Mary’s churches. Pro-life Volunteer Opportunity PROVIDENCE —The Little Flower Home hosts homeless pregnant women in private homes and is in need of a social worker who can be available to support our guests and host families. Polish Fest slated at St. Stanislaus Kostka WOONSOCKET — Polish Fest at St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, 174 Harris Ave., will be held Saturday, Aug. 27. Kitchen opens at noon with golombki, pierogi, kielbasa, cabbage soup, pickle soup, baked cabbage, zapiekanki (Polish pizza), nalesniki (crepes), as well as food from the grill. Home baked pastry will also be available. Music for dancing will start at noon. Knights to host Rosary BRISTOL — Council 379 of the Knights of Columbus will pray the Rosary at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Aug. 27 at noon, rain or shine. The intention of the Rosary is in reparation for sins against the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Knights to host fundraiser to benefit local family CENTRAL FALLS — Sullivan Council 2700 will host a fundraiser dinner to benefit a local family who lost their belongings in an apartment fire. A pasta, meatball and salad supper will be held on August 28, from 2 – 8 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 20 Claremont St. For more information, call 401-332-3596. Precious Blood Church to hold First Saturdays Devotion WOONSOCKET — Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Ave., will offer the First Saturdays devotion in unity with Pope Francis’ Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and to also make reparations for the blasphemies and outrages committed against her Immaculate Heart. The dates of the devotions are: Saturday, Sept. 3; Saturday, Oct. 1; and Saturday, Nov. 5. Holy Mass will begin at 8 a.m. Immediately following the Holy Mass the Rosary with scriptural meditation will be prayed. Celebrate the Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta BURRILLVILLE — The Shrine of Little Flower will celebrate the Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta on Monday, September 5 with Mass at 9 a.m., followed by a procession to the garden of St. Teresa, a reflection and meditation, and a brunch. Next Chapter faith sharing group to meet PROVIDENCE — Come join the Next Chapter faith sharing group as they learn about and discuss “The Catechism of the Catholic Church,” from Michael Wahl, Ph.D., Theology Department of Providence College. The event takes place at St. Pius V Church’s Caffe Lepanto, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. All are welcome. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month. Polish Family Festival CENTRAL FALLS — The Polish Family Festival at St. Joseph’s Church, 391 High St., will be held Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10 from 6 p.m. – 12 a.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 11 from noon – 6 p.m. The festival is held in the parish parking lot. Polish food will be available inside the parish center, across the street from the church. Entertainment includes a Polish Band and DJ. There will be various raffles, a pastry booth, a special raffle, special prizes and pictures with Santa. Holy Angels to host charity food sale BARRINGTON — Take-Out Thursday, a charity food sale and popular East Bay attraction, will return to Holy Angels Church on September 15. Indoor yard sale PAWTUCKET — The Little Sisters of the Poor will host their annual indoor yard sale at Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St., on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sept. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The two-day sale will include home décor, jewelry, housewares, holiday items and more. All proceeds will benefit the Little Sisters’ mission of caring for the elderly poor. Covid-19 prevention protocols will be in effect including screening before entry and capacity limits. Mother of Life Pregnancy Center to host Open House PROVIDENCE — The Mother of Life Pregnancy Center, 400 Atwells Ave., will host an Open House on Saturday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. to showcase the Center with guided tours by their staff, including the new ultrasound machine donated by the Knights of Columbus. There will also be an opportunity to meet the staff. Street parking is available along Atwells Avenue and two blocks down in the lot at Holy Ghost Church. Italian sausage sandwiches, hotdogs and soft drinks will be available. There will be a free will offering. Please consider donating diapers sizes 4,5 and 6, 0-6 onesies, wet wipes, and baby clothes 0-24 months to the center when you come. The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola Retreat WEST WARWICK — Called by Name Ministry is offering “The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola — A Retreat in Daily Life.” This is a lived experience of praying, meditating and reflecting on Scripture in order to grow in union with God and to discern God’s will. Bereavement Ministry PROVIDENCE — The Bereavement Ministry of St Pius V. parish will sponsor an eight-week support group for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. The group will give participants a safe and sacred space in which to learn about grief and to share their grief experiences. Meetings will be held at St Pius V Church on Thursdays, from September 8 through October 27, from 7-8 p.m. There is no fee but pre-registration is required.
